We’re hiring — remote-first

Careers at LoveSync

Build a home for love with people who mean it.

LoveSync has spent nearly a decade in the quiet work of counselling and care. We’re growing the team that carries that work into the wider world — engineers, designers, counsellors, safeguarders, operators, and growth folks who want the craft to matter.

Why LoveSync

The reasons people join — and stay.

Mission-first isn’t a slogan here. It shapes how we hire, how we work, and how we treat one another.

01

Real impact

Your work touches the most tender part of people’s lives — how they love, heal, and celebrate. That’s a weight and a privilege.

02

Practitioner-informed

Counsellors and safeguarders sit inside the product team, not outside it. Every meaningful decision is checked against real practice.

03

Remote-first

The team is distributed by design. We hire for the work, not the postcode, and we’ve been doing it long enough to be good at it.

04

Grown-ups only

We trust people to own their work, tell the truth early, and take rest seriously. No performative hustle, no manufactured drama.

01 · The work

Craft that shows up in someone’s hardest week.

You’re not shipping features for a metric. You’re building the room a couple sits in during a crisis session, the moment a member gets matched to the right counsellor, the letter that lands on an anniversary. Real people. Real stakes. Real care.

  • Product surfaces that hold hard conversations well
  • Systems that keep sensitive data private by default
  • Counselling flows co-designed with practising clinicians
  • Safeguarding pathways that route to real humans on call
  • Small, honest teams that ship things end-to-end

02 · The team

Kind, senior, and a little quiet.

Most of us have done this work somewhere else and wanted a place where craft was allowed to matter again. Engineers who care about correctness. Designers who care about the seam between screens and feelings. Counsellors who’ve sat with a thousand couples. Operators who make the machine run without turning it cold.

  • Senior by default — most roles are IC5 and up
  • Cross-discipline pairs on every meaningful surface
  • Mentorship inward, not just outward
  • Regular time with the counselling network built in
  • A culture that lets people be quietly excellent

03 · The way we work

Async by default. Meetings by consent.

The default is written work — clear briefs, decision docs, and thoughtful review. Meetings happen when the shape of the problem needs a room. Deep work is protected. Time zones are respected. Rest is planned, not squeezed.

  • Written-first — briefs before meetings, always
  • Consent-driven meetings — no calendar bombs
  • Trust-not-surveillance — no keystroke tools, ever
  • Deep-work blocks protected across time zones
  • Real off-hours — Slack sleeps when you do

Disciplines we hire for

Six ways to shape LoveSync.

Every discipline sits close to the members we serve. We hire seniors for depth, and we hire juniors when we can offer real mentorship.

Engineering

Mobile, web, platform, and data

Flutter and native on mobile. Modern React on web. A calm, well-tested platform underneath. If you like correctness, privacy, and shipping end-to-end, you’ll fit.

Write to us
Design

Product, brand, and content design

Warm-not-slick surfaces for real moments. You’ll co-design with counsellors, safeguarders, and engineers — and see your work land in someone’s hardest hour.

Write to us
Counselling

In-house counsellors and clinical leads

Practising clinicians who shape the session room, review content, and support the network. You’ll keep a caseload if you want one, and lead the craft either way.

Write to us
Safeguarding

Trust, safety, and on-call response

You’ll design and run the pathways that catch someone in crisis — with the training, the rota, and the authority to act. This is serious work, treated seriously.

Write to us
Operations

People ops, finance, and the machine

The quiet craft of making a company run — payroll, contracts, vendor care, counsellor onboarding, and the ledger that keeps every cent honest.

Write to us
Growth

Marketing, partnerships, and community

Truthful marketing for a mission-first company. You’ll grow the community without cheapening it — and build partnerships with people who share the values.

How we work

The working agreements that make the rest possible.

Remote-first only works when the norms hold. Ours have been sharpened over years of practice.

Norm 01

Remote-first

Roles are open across regions where we’re set up to employ well. We flex around your life, not the other way around.

Norm 02

Async by default

Written briefs, thoughtful review, and decision docs are the norm. Meetings are the exception, not the calendar.

Norm 03

Consent-driven meetings

No calendar bombs. Meetings have agendas, outcomes, and a real reason. If it could have been a doc, it will be.

Norm 04

Trust-not-surveillance

No keystroke trackers, no productivity theatre, no green-dot policing. You own your time. We look at outcomes.

The team, in their own words

What it feels like to work here.

Senior engineer
I’ve been remote for a decade. LoveSync is the first place where async actually held under pressure — because leadership actually practises it.
Anon
Design lead
I came for the mission and stayed for the craft. Design here is a real seat at the table, from safeguarding to the sweet-words flow.
Anon
Head of counselling
I still see clients twice a week, and my work here makes their sessions safer. That’s not something I could say at any of my previous roles.

An honest note

Not for everyone.

People who thrive at LoveSync tend to want long tenure over serial job-hopping, mission over sprint, and real craft over shipping-for-shipping’s-sake. They write well, take rest seriously, and are comfortable sitting with hard problems for longer than a quarter. They’ve usually done this work somewhere else, and they came here because they wanted the craft to matter again.

People who don’t thrive here tend to want hyper-growth chaos, aggressive comp comparisons every six months, or a culture where visibility and velocity are the only measures. If you’re looking for a rocket ship to strap yourself to and then leave in eighteen months, this probably isn’t it — and that’s okay. We’d rather say so up front than pretend.

Common questions

Everything people ask before applying.

If your question isn’t here, write to [email protected] — we answer within a business day.

06 questions

01What’s the application process like?

A short written intro from you, a review by the hiring lead, one conversation to get to know each other, a paid work-sample rooted in the actual role, and two or three follow-up conversations with the people you’d work with. We share the plan up front and stick to it.

02How long does it usually take?

About three to four weeks from first message to offer for most roles. We move faster when we can and slower when a role is senior enough to deserve it. Whatever the pace, we tell you where you are at every step.

03Do you sponsor visas or relocation?

We’re remote-first, so most roles don’t need it. Where a role does need a specific jurisdiction, we’ll say so clearly on the listing and support relocation or sponsorship where we can. If we can’t, we’ll tell you before you invest time.

04Contractor or full-time?

Most roles are full-time, employed through our regional entities where we’re set up. A small number are contractor-first — usually specialist counselling or short-run growth work — and we’re honest about which is which on the listing.

05Do you hire junior?

Sometimes. We hire junior when we have the mentorship capacity to do it well — meaning a named mentor, a real ramp, and work that stretches you without drowning you. When we don’t have that capacity, we don’t pretend we do.

06How are salaries set?

Published bands by level and region, reviewed annually against real market data. You’ll see the exact band for the role in the first conversation. We don’t negotiate off the band — the band is the honest answer, for everyone.
